Wilderness First Aid is an intensive course designed to prepare you for emergency situations that you might encounter while out on an easy day trip, a summer camp experience, or out in a remote outdoor setting.   

This is a hands-on course that prepares you to avoid, prevent, or cope with emergencies in the wilderness.  Before you come to class, you will need to prepare in advance using our online materials.  The day of class, we will work exclusively on the hands-on skills needed to save a life in a wilderness setting.

You will learn about:

• Injuries, ranging from the big and dramatic to the lowly blister on your foot
• Environmental stress from heat, cold, or altitude
• Biological hazards such as bugs, snakes, plants, and contaminated water
• Medical problems that are aggravated in the wilderness

Before class, you should also prepare or purchase a first aid kit.  Bring your first aid kit to class!  You will need to wear comfortable clothes.

Successful students who complete this course will earn their Wilderness First Aid certification through the American Safety and Health Institute.
